Barcelona Platform Bed - Tiger Mahogany

Our Barcelona platform bed captures the spirit and drama of late 20th century design with a variety of subtle details. It is entirely handcrafted of solid Mahogany in a tiger mahogany finish. Designed for use with a mattress alone, it includes a sturdy, padded wood platform for comfort and proper mattress support. The headboard is available in your choice of the standard 36" height or a taller 40" version for thicker mattresses. Also available in dark Mahogany finish and daybed.     Review: "We have the Barcelona king standard height. It has a truly beautiful finish and contemporary design that blends well with our other furnishings. It was not difficult to assemble. We had only one problem: after taking about two weeks to arrive, the headboard came split down the middle. We immediately called the company and emailed them a picture. They acted immediately and after another longish wait a new headboard arrived that was perfect. I would suggest airing out the room as the odor from the finish was strong-- but has since almost dissipated. We love this new addition to our bedroom!"

    Review: "Last year my wife and I purchased a new home in Summerlin, Nevada. We wanted a new bed as well which would last us for the duration of our lives. After doing a great deal of research and examination, both in stores and on line, we came upon a bed made by Charles P. Rogers. It was the Tiger Mahogany Barcelona bed which we needed in a Cal King model. Not being able to see the bed other than on their Internet site, we concluded that the images and some reviews indicated that the bed was high quality. So we decided to order it. It was frankly difficult waiting for the bed to arrive and it seemed a long time but the reasonable explanation offered, which makes sense in retrospect, was that it was being shipped by the best transport company available, would arrive in perfect condition, and would be assembled professionally by the shippers, coming clear across country. The bed arrived in late November. As containers were unloaded from the truck I waited to see if my wild expectations would be realized. The workers assembled the bed with great care and as it came to form I can only state that it exceeded any expectations I had made. Simply put, the bed is stunning. It is a man's bed. The mahogany grain sparkles, the side and front rails are deep enough to show an architecture that is simple yet profound. The quality of the entire bed including the sections which support the mattress is superb. When sleeping in it, there is a sense of substance, beauty and passion. With a new top line Simmons mattress, four XL goose down pillows, plain but elegant white cotton sheets and an XL Hudson's Bay Point crimson blanket, the bed is the centerpiece of our home. Anyone who purchases this bed and can appreciate the beauty and workmanship involved in creating it will be rewarded for a lifetime."

I previously bought queen size for him but never saw it - ours is king and I just love how it looks.     Review: "The bed is beautiful and very well constructed. The directions for assembly are taped onto one of the platform pieces and are also online. The only problem that I didn't expect is that I keep stubbing my toes on the feet of the bed. It will take some time to get used to this as our previous bed had a headboard and platform, but no feet."

    Review: "The bed arrived VERY well packed. In fact, it was so well packed, it took quite some time to extricate it to begin assembly. That's far better than having it arrive in pieces! As I assembled it alone, it took some mechanical ability (which I have), not to mention some strength (I'm a personal trainer, thankfully). My only complaint was that I could not find any assembly directions. With the help of a YouTube video and some of that mechanical ability, I figured it out and got it assembled, but it took about 6 hours to complete. Amusingly, as I was unwrapping the last platform to put in the base of the frame, I found the directions taped to the plastic on the back side! PLEASE, somewhere on the box or other packaging, put a BIG sign identifying where the directions are hidden!! Otherwise, it is an extremely solid, sturdy, well-built and beautiful piece of furniture. It is absolutely perfect for my organic memory foam bed. It was well worth the price and the effort."

    Review: "We received our tiger mahogany Barcelona bed several days ago. The bed is exceptionally well made, sturdy and very heavy. Color is a beautiful rich brown with red undertones. I couldn't be more pleased. It was very well packed. So well, in fact, that it was difficult to separate it from all that packaging. Make sure to allot some extra time for that. On the upside, not a single scratch on it. It would be great if additional furniture was sold along with it. Or at least night stands. Still, the bed itself is great."

    Review: "The Barcelona platform bed we ordered several years ago fits perfectly in our Florida home. We spent many years looking for a solid, contemporary bed. We were so happy with our purchase. It came crated and there was not one scratch on the bed. Before we bought the bed, I called New York and spoke with a salesman who assured me that we could put the bed together. We put it together with no trouble at all. We definitely would buy another bed from Chas. Rogers."

    Review: "I have been looking for a bed for the longest time. I have been looking as this perticular bed for the longest time. At first I thought this might be a little expensive for mu budget. Finally I decided I will buy it anyway because it was my birthday gift for myself. Not only looks beautifull and classy it is unbeleivably comfortable. Honestly as much as I tell everybody how comfortable it is will not be possiable to know unless you guys try it. Everybody has to see the packaging, it shows how they value their product and costemer. The most important was the person who answered the phone and helped me with purchase, I honestly thought I am speaking with the very dear family member. Very sweet and kind. You can tell she loves her job and she is very happy with working there. That tells alot about the place.Thank you it is worth every penny."

    Review: "Have had our king bed for over a month now and my wife and I are very pleased with it. We were looking for a solid bed with strong support. Both my wife and I are tall and we have two kids who routinely join us and jump on our bed. This bed has good solid wood construction and the base frame and platform are very sturdy. We also wanted a low profile headboard as our bed sits under a window and we did not want to block much of the window. This bed is a perfect fit as it goes maybe an inch above the window sill. I was also very pleased with the service from CPR. I had originally looked at another bed on their web site and I called the 800 number with a question, only to learn that the bed I called about was not in stock. The sales rep directed me to consider this bed and gave me good information about it. I was unsure about ordering a bed online, so I put a deposit on it and they let me think about it. I called back a few days later and made the purchase and scheduled delivery and paid for set up. The delivery was on time and the two men had the bed set up and all materials cleaned up in about 30 minutes. No problems. Overall very good experience"
