We at Charles P. Rogers are always trying new things. Even though our current collection of beds includes a number of timeless, classic styles, we are always on the lookout to expand and diversify. We recently introduced the brand new Pavilion bed, a crisp and sophisticated platform bed whose button tufted style is somewhat reminiscent of the Newhouse bed. The Pavilion comes in our smooth, soft ultra suede microfiber in both cocoa and cream, and the rails are upholstered to match the headboard.

The Pavilion is definitely hitting with our customers as we have experienced a high demand for the bed, and we are pleased to see that the press has caught on as well. We’ve seen postings about the Pavilion bed in a number of publications, and we just wanted to share the links with you so you can see what they’re saying about our newest addition:

We each spend anywhere from a third to a quarter of our day in bed, so this place, this throne room, is a very crucial part of our homes. We at Charles P. Rogers are dedicated to creating products that usher you into and out of your sleeping state with maximum comfort and products that are the gorgeous, eye-catching focal point of any bedroom they’re a part of. We love it when we get feedback from our lovely customers, and we also love it when we hear back from our peers in the business.

That’s why we were pleased as punch when we took a look at Apartment Therapy to find a Charles P. Rogers bed featured in one of their stories. It is a feature on cost-effective bed options for rooms that are short on space. Among all the curious, mostly wood designs featured in the story was our iron Cottage trundle bed, which is great in a small room or a kids room and has the elevated height that provides space for a trundle or a convenient storage space if you opt not to get the trundle. Thanks are in store to Apartment Therapy for showing us the love and highlighting our Cottage bed.

We love it when Charles P. Rogers beds get to be the centerpiece of a beautiful bedroom. We were poking around Lonny Magazine, which is a really neat bimonthly online home design and décor magazine, and we found one of our beds featured in a room that really popped. The advertisement is for Velux, the famed Danish window and skylight manufacturer. The room is a gorgeous, minimal affair with Velux skylights, a lush and spindly cherry blossom sprig wall painting that spans the entire length of the room, and what’s this? Our Zen platform bed in the middle of the room. We love the way the skylight casts a column of light down on the bed and the way the room gives the impression of nature and serenity.

Lonny, being the net-based interactive wonder that it is, also embedded a video advertisement on the page containing the ad, so if you click over the page, you can see the room, and our bed, in live action. Thanks are in order for Velux, Lonny magazine, and the lovely woman who brings the room to life in the ad.

It’s hard to believe that 2011 is actually a quarter of the way through already. It seems like just yesterday we were ringing in the new year over champagne toasts, goofy hats, and sunglasses. Where does the time go? April is here, and the more literary inclined among you will note that April is National Poetry Month. National Poetry Month is a time set aside for us to recognize the great poets of the past while cultivating and acknowledging the up and coming writers of today. We at Charles P. Rogers are doing our part on the latter by hosting our second young writers’ workshop in conjunction with Writopia Labs.

Ready. Set. Write: The Poetry Edition will take place on April 10th at our Manhattan showroom located at 55 West 17th Street and will last from 12 to 4pm. It’s a chance for writers ages 8 to 18 to craft and perform original pieces with helpful feedback from Writopia’s dedicated staff of published writers. Imbuing young writers with confidence and community is invaluable to cultivating their gift, and we’re overjoyed that we’re able to be a part of it. We would also like to thank Time Out New York Kids and Mom Inc Daily for featuring Ready. Set. Write: The Poetry Edition in their upcoming events.

Hey out there! We at Charles P. Rogers strive to make gorgeous, strong, and durable products every day of the week, and nothing is more rewarding to us than getting feedback on a job well done. That said, we’d like to share some of the press we’ve been getting lately about our beds and linens. E – The Environmental Magazine has been in publication for twenty years now, and they’ve graciously featured us in their March/April issue, on stands now. Our brand new line of Natural Organic Cotton linens is featured in their pages as a crisp, comfy, and environmentally sound option for bedding in the spring and summer months. Thanks, guys! It’s a pleasure.

We’ve also been featured in the April issue of Veranda magazine. Veranda ran a feature called “The World of Canopy Beds” that’s all about different options for the classic, elegant canopy bed. In it they showcase our iron Cairo canopy bed with its sleek and clean lines. Veranda says that our Cairo “recalls the days of colony and empire” and also praises its functionality. Thanks are in order to the folks at Veranda for the feature. We’re thankful that all of the hard work that goes into designing, producing, and maintaining these beautiful beds and linens is making everyone else as happy as it makes us.
