Our planet is all we have, right? This place is our home, so we would do well to take good care of it. As such, we’re always pursuing ways that we at Charles P. Rogers can reduce our carbon footprint. We just wanted to clue everyone in to a couple of the environmentally sensitive initiatives that we have going.

Thanks to our lovely visual team, all of our beds are available for view online in multiple settings and angles that show off their beauty and functionality. Having all of the beds currently in production viewable on our website has allowed us to move away from the distribution of paper catalogs. Last month we gave out the last of our paper catalogs, and we’re proud to announce that we’ve cut down on our paper usage considerably in the process.

Another environmentally conscious initiative that we’ve put forth in the last few months has to do with our linens. This past winter we introduced our line of natural organic cotton linens. The supple white linens are completely free of any kind of dye, and they’re made from cotton that is grown using methods that serve to reduce the use of harmful chemicals like pesticides and the like. We’re always on the lookout for ways to consume less, conserve more, and lighten our impact on the environment.

Charles P. Rogers: Sleigh Platform Bed

When choosing a bed you have a number of different options to consider. Oftentimes the size of the room will dictate what kind of a bed you get as smaller rooms benefit from beds that conserve their already limited space. Well if you’ve got the space, maybe you want to consider getting a sleigh bed. The sleigh bed and its luscious curves have endured whole centuries. The sleigh bed has its origins in ancient European civilization. It was resurrected as one of the most popular styles of bed in the early 19th century (reportedly when excavations of Greco-Roman ruins yielded crude prototypes for the bed), and they have seen a resurgence in popularity in recent times due to the increased number of design and material options that creative bed manufacturers have applied to them.

Traditional sleigh beds have headboards and footboards that either scroll in or curve outward at the top. More contemporary versions of the bed can be made with an open foot (AKA, no footboard) for people whose rooms that can’t quite accommodate the full footboard or else people who like to have the open ended space to kick their feet over the edge of the bed. While the sleigh bed began as a primarily wooden construct, there are also metal variants (like our Paris bed, for instance). It’s a gorgeous and versatile bed. Why not bring some classic old world charm to your bedroom?

You may know that we had a very special Valentine’s Day here at Charles P. Rogers. For the month leading up to Valentine’s Day, we ran our Show Us Some Love contest where you, our trusty and faithful customers, sent in submissions showing us how much you love your Charles P. Rogers beds.

All sorts of amazing and heartwarming submissions came in, from poetry to stories to essays to photos to videos, but we’d like to congratulate the Stech family in particular for their submission, a really cool stop motion slide show of the family reading and frolicking in their gorgeous Campaign bed set to the tune of “1, 2, 3, 4” by the Plain White T’s. Their touching video has won them a brand new queen sized Charles P. Rogers bed. Our thanks go out to everyone involved for showing us how much our beds mean to you. We genuinely loved hearing back from you all. Bringing comfort and happiness to you has been our mission since day one, and it’s great to know that the love is mutual.

Charles P. Rogers: Relax Platform Bed

Hello out there. How’ve you been? We at Charles P. Rogers have been busy. These past couple of months we’ve been hard at work on improving our fabulous line of platform beds. We’ve got a great and ever-expanding repertoire of wooden platform beds already, but lately we’ve been concentrating on creating more varied options for our customers. A few weeks ago we introduced the Pavilion and Newhouse Platform beds, with their gorgeous button tufted headboards in microsuede and leather, respectively. Now we’ve got something brand new. We’d like to introduce our Relax bed.

The Relax bed is a platform bed with a cozily stuffed, pillow-style headboard covered in rich cocoa ultra suede. The Relax comes complete with upholstered rails to match the headboard and a set of four solid mahogany feet. The soft, comfy headboard that the Relax sports is perfect for reading, watching movies, hanging out, any activities you love to enjoy in your bed.

Lots A Love

“Show Us Some Love”

January 14th – February 14th

This Valentine’s Day, we want to give you a gift.
A BRAND NEW BED. Just show us some love.

We LOVE beds.  A bed says so much about a person or a couple or a family; and your bedroom shows your personality. Are you messy or neat?  Do you have a classic or contemporary sense of style?  Does your pet share the bed with you?  Do you watch movies or eat in bed?  It is an important part of your daily life.

For the month leading up to Valentine’s Day, we invite you to let us know why you love your bed. Charles P. Rogers is leaving the question open ended – but please keep it clean – letting you show us your idea of Valentine’s Day as it relates to our favorite room in the house.  Send us a video of your husband playing “No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed” with your kids, a picture of you and your new beau deciding who gets whose side of the bed, or a sonnet to your bed celebrating the goodnight’s sleep you get on your mattress.  Whether you read yourself to sleep or stay up late talking about your day to your long distance love on the phone, we want to see an example of how your bed is an important part of your Valentine’s Day.

We’ll post select submissions on our web site during the month and on Valentine’s Day the CPR judges will choose a winner  based on creativity, execution and exhibition of the “Show Us Some Love” theme.  That lucky winner will select his or her choice of one of our three QUEEN beds, Newhouse, Newfield, or Barcelona, for free, shipped to you anywhere in the US for you to enjoy.  It’s open to everyone so please send us your example now.
