Leather & Upholstered Beds

Our collection of handmade leather and upholstered beds has a wide breadth of styles. Leather sleigh beds contemporary leather daybeds, and traditional leather beds are all represented. Our leather beds are carefully proportioned for size, style and decorative details. We begin with a well engineered frame for strength and carefully construct it to reflect the final details of the design. High resilience padding is built up in layers to correspond to comfort, shape and contour. We use only supple, select graded full and top grain leathers for our beds and use large, generous sections of hide wherever possible. Hand button-tufting, individually applied tacks and solid hardwood rails and feet are just some of the details which make our leather beds the benchmark of quality and style. [ read more ]
Traditional Leather Beds
Combining classic updated shapes with traditional workmanship, our traditional leather beds range from the elegantly tuftedTufting - The process of drawing a cord through a deep cushion giving high puffs of padding and small low valleys where the cord is drawn. Names are given to tufting describing the shape of the tuft such as "diamond," "biscuit," or "square." Buttons are often attached to cords to highlight the tufting design.

It has a reddish brown color which darkens over time, and displays a beautiful sheen when polished. It has excellent workability, and is very durable. These properties make it a favorable wood for boat making as well as for making furniture, musical instruments, and other durable objects.

Contemporary Leather Beds
Our contemporary leather beds start with a clean sophisticated design, substantial frame construction and careful use of foamHigh resilience padding - Foam of specified weight & density that responds to pressure with the same recover time over a long period of use. We use specific foam densities in different areas of construction based on providing comfort, for maintaining shape and durability with repeated use.

We use only soft, full or top grain American cowhidesCowhide - Hide of a cow specifically used to make leather. Grades and sizes are based on geography and tanning treatment. Other source of hides include buffalo, goat and pig.

Contemporary leather bed detailing includes precise leather layout for color and texture, attention to proper sewing and stitching and hand tufting. Hardwood feet and side rails are carefully finished to blend with leather elements and all of our leather beds have a solid steel center support system engineered for proper support for a life time of durability.
Leather Sleigh Beds
We offer both contemporary and traditional leather sleigh bedsSleigh bed - A classic bed style that resembles the shape of a horse-drawn sleigh with scroll-shaped headboard and footboard. The headboard is slightly higher than the footboard. Modern sleighs often have only a headboard and an open or low footboard.
