The Covid-19 situation is still evolving. No matter the change, our first priority will always be the health and well being of our customers, staff, and partners. We are monitoring and adapting all health and safety recommendations as currently expressed by Federal, State, and Local authorities. We will be updating our procedures and policies as required for the health of our communities.

As always, our master bed makers, warehouse, and support teams are still on the payroll, ready to provide safe, reliable service.

We've been making beds and mattresses in New York since 1855.
Over that long history, we've been through good times and bad.
And have learned again and again, working together, the American spirit will always prevail.

These days a good nights' sleep is more important than ever and we're here to give you exactly that.

- The Charles P. Rogers Team

Platform Beds Contemporary Styles | Charles P. Rogers® Est. 1855

Since America embraced contemporary design more than half a century ago, platform beds have emerged as a symbol of modern living. Our bed collection has expanded to include a wide variety of classic platform beds from contemporary trends encompassing modern European, American and Japanese designs. We have styles in wood, iron and upholstery.

All of our contemporary platform beds are designed to use a mattress alone rather than a traditional mattress and box spring. Our wood platform beds are sturdily constructed from solid hardwood planks and feature traditional hand-rubbed finishes to bring out the natural beauty of the wood. Though modern in design, our steel platform beds are made with the same skill and craftsmanship as our more traditional iron and brass bed styles, including our exclusive multi-step, hand-painted finish. For our wooden models, our proprietary finishes are applied by hand in multiple layers with the final coats rubbed to a soft sheen.

Whether in wood, fabric or metal, all our contemporary platform beds include a solid wood platform and an integrated structure that has been engineered to provide a rigid base for uniform support of the entire mattress. All upholstery is designed for comfort, style and durability. Every platform bed is precisely fit and finished with our 150 years of bed-making experience.

When Charles P. Rogers founded our company in 1855, little did he know that his company would be as long-lived as the beds he made. Today we celebrate over 150 years of business in New York City with an ever-expanding selection of models and styles, including classics from our early days, contemporary designs from the entire 20th century and even premium linens and bedding.

The items you will find on our web site are different from those on other sites and in catalogs or stores. Each is an original, exclusive design, conceived by our in-house design team, hand-made in our own factories and available by you, our customer, for direct purchase. Do not be fooled by inferior imitations and knock-offs. We use authentic materials and processes in our construction and pay particular attention to proportion and detail in order to retain the integrity of classic designs while accommodating contemporary mattress sizes such as Queen, King and California King.

All of our products are made to the same high standards and offer quality and value that becomes ever more apparent over a lifetime of ownership. Our range of prices is representative of differences in materials and complexity of construction, but, because of our "factory-direct" business model, all bed prices represent substantial discounts over what you would pay for comparable quality in traditional specialty stores and retail chains.

By necessity we have remained a small company as our products cannot be mass-produced, without sacrificing quality. The advantage for you is that our staff understands and cares how our products are made and they know the best way to get them to your home efficiently and economically.

Since our inception, we have manufactured and sold our products directly to the public from our Manhattan factory showroom or by mail or phone in our catalog. Our warehouse in PSL, FL is also open to the public. Right now, a large selection of our most popular styles are in stock and available at substantial savings from made to order prices.

To purchase a piece of heirloom quality furniture from Charles P. Rogers, simply place an item into your online shopping cart, order by telephone or stop by one of our factory showrooms in NY, NJ, or PA. We look forward to assisting you in any way possible and we can't wait to add you to our ever-growing list of delighted customers.
