"I purchased a Solide platform bed in April, including the firmer of the two mattresses offered by Charles P. Rogers. After three months my wife and I are both very pleased with it. This is a very "plain" bed - no fancy adornment - but it is extremely well-built. Every dollar you spend is going toward getting the highest quality bed and mattress you are likely to find in this price range! Two minor quibbles, however. The bed takes a lot longer to set up than the description would lead you to believe; we spent two hours, with both of us working on it. The pre-drilled holes in the frame are just a tiny bit too small for the dowels on the ends of the cross-brace; I had to enlarge them ever so slightly with a drill. And the instructions regarding which bolts to use in attaching the center rail to the legs and the frame are mixed-up; save the short bolts for the frame! These two minor points aside, this is a very nice bed. The hardwood frame is beautifully finished, the hardware is heavy-duty, and the upholstered platform sections are a nice touch. Overall, a very well-made bed, and priced very competitively."

"We ordered this bed based on the web description. It did not disappoint. It is of high quality construction and materials. The full platform base provides the bed with consistent support. We also purchased the St. Charles platform bed mattress--also excellent. Above all, the service was outstanding. We needed the bed for our new "furniture-less" house and extra efforts were made so that it was shipped and delivered the day after our closing. Niles, the associate we worked with, was personable and professional and our scheduling needs seemed to present no difficulties whatsoever. We could not have had a better experience."

"This bed in Tiger Wood has made the difference between an OK bedroom and something spectacular. Being able to tuck in sheet and blankets makes all the difference in neatness.
Don was the rep that I spoke with, extremely helpful.
I should add that the first company I was hoping to buy a bed from kept changing delivery dates until after 3 weeks I canceled my order. My bed arrived from C P Rogers in 3 days. Easy to put together.

"This product is excellent. The materials are quality and the tiger mahogany color is beautiful. It has a reddish tone to it. It was easy to put together and anyone can put it together by themselves. The directions were simple and there were only like 5 major steps. The only problem I had was one of the screws was missing in the hardware package. Thank goodness I happened to just purchase a new dining table and used a screw of the same size from my old table to finish putting it together! Other than this, I would highly recommend this product."

"This was a great purchase. The bed was fairly cheap and it is obvious from unpacking it and feeling the pieces that it is well constructed. Unfortunately our bed arrived without the instructions for putting it together. To my surprise, the design of the bed is so simple that we didn't have any trouble figuring out how to construct it. It is a very solid frame and we're quite happy with it. Next time I need a bed I'll be coming back to see if they have anything in the 'asian/japanese' style of bed that is a bit more contemporary."

Rogers has a superior platfom design, no weak little slats. Even at full price, this bed is a steal. I was lucky enough to buy it on sale. The finish is beautiful in tiger mahogany. "I purchased this bed in king size for my daughter who is living in another state. A few weeks into using the bed, one of the side rails split. I was heartsick, thinking that the bed was now useless. She contacted the company, emailed pictures to them, and received a prompt response. They said that they would replace the rail at no cost, but shipping would have to be paid (ouch). The part arrived in about 1 week, as promised. I\'m not sure why the spit occurred, however, the company\'s response was very professional. With the cost of shipping the rail at $65, their free shipping on the initial bed orders is a huge plus. The bed is very heavy and the finish is very smooth. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was because of our unfortunate rail split. I am hopeful that this was a fluke and that the bed performs well into the future without any further problems. It certainly looks like it should last forever!"

"i recently moved and wanted to upgrade my bed. i had a few simple requirements: solid wood in a dark finish, low platform style and simple lines. i live in los angeles and therefore thought this would be easy, right? no. after exhaustive searches around town and on the internet, the only bed i could find that even came close was at west elm - an online order only (of course). i was ready to order it and pay the exorbitant delivery fee when all of a sudden it was \"no longer available\" (in the dark finish i liked). i was about to give up. i could not find anything. i even considered building a bed! in one last attempt, i did a google image search for \"platform bed solid wood\" and started to look at pictures, hoping to find something - somewhere - that caught my eye. sure enough, i came across this bed. i was hoping that i would be able to see it in person, but the only stores were on the east coast. so i mulled over the idea of purchasing something over the internet, relying solely on photos. not finding any other options, i decided to bite the bullet and order it. according to the website they had a great return policy and the purchase felt safe. i was also very happy to find out that they offered the ability to delay delivery... my move date had unexpectedly been pushed back and i would not have been able to accept the delivery as originally planned. the customer service representative was extremely helpful and this gave me hope. my bed arrived in several boxes, but i was pleasantly surprised by the ease of assembly. sure enough, the bed was even better than expected. it looks great and feels very sturdy. i have been sleeping on it for a month now, and i am extremely satisfied with my purchase in every way."

Delivery charges within the lower 48 states for each Class are listed below. Our furniture deliveries are made by express carrier. Service includes delivery inside your front door. Because our beds are large, bulky items, we recommend you arrange for another person to help with assembly. This bed is constructed from solid, genuine Mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla) considered to be one of the finest furniture woods in the world due to it's beauty, durability and working properties. We use only FAS grade "first and seconds" lumber, the highest industry grade available. All of our Mahogany beds utilize only legal and ecologically sustainable plantation grown Mahogany. Our use of carefully managed and harvested Mahogany insures that your investment in a Charles P. Rogers bed is sound both from an environment standpoint as well as an aesthetic one. This Mahogany bed is a product that will remain useful for generations and is manufactured with careful and thoughtful use of natural resources. We believe this is most sound practice as a bed that continues it's usefulness for multiple generations minimizes the need for replacement items.
