I like this bed. I just received my second one. It seems to me to be real solid wood. I don't think it even has veneer. It is very rare to find a solid wood bed that turns out to be real solid wood and not real solid plywood. The color is beautiful and very close to the images depicted on this site. This bed is heavy and difficult to move. There are 3 legs in the middle for support that may drag and break if you slide the bed. It depends on how you adjust them. If they are tight to the floor they may break. If they are loose to the floor they will slide. You don't want to pick up this bed. It takes a man on each of the four corners. But the legs have nice felt on them and aside from concerns about the 3 other center legs it slides with considerable effort. Did I mention its heavy? I'm not particularly fond of the padded platform. I would prefer simple slats. But most of you will probably like it the way it is. I think its lower than typical beds. The top of the platform, bottom of your mattress will be 13" off the floor. This is about what you expect from a platform bed I think. I love this bed! I highly recommend this bed, even if you do as I did, and order it without trying it out first. They do have a decent return policy, which was reassuring, but which I am happy to say I am not going to need. I read lots of reviews about beds and mattresses and became convinced that most of them weren't very good and were way overpriced. I finally found the "Old Bed Guy" online and he seemed extremely knowledgeable and trustworthy. He recommended a latex/box spring combination that Charles Rogers sells. But when I talked to the saleswoman, she recommended this one, with a memory foam mattress instead, mainly because my partner has had two hip replacements and really needs a good cushion under her hips. We both were happy from the moment we first lay down. The memory foam conforms to your body, isn't too soft and just feels really comfortable. The individually wrapped springs makes it so one person can toss and turn and the other doesn't even notice. I was worried that the memory foam would be hot, but it isn't. Both I and my partner are totally satisfied with this bed.

I needed a new mattress and was downsizing from a King to a Queen. I had my Charles P Rogers Iron Campaign bed which I didn't want to give up but what was I going to do? I could get a Queen size Campaign Frame (head and foot)... Well then maybe I should consider a mattress as this company which I was very impressed with because of the quality of the frame I had purchased 15 yrs ago also made mattresses and had been doing so since 1855? So I started the review on the website and eventually worked with Erik and decided upon this mattress... I am heavy and a side sleeper and the 9000 seemed the best!! I wanted cotton and non allergenic latex and liked the idea of recycled springs.... The last mattress I purchased smelled for a week (pricey too) and I didn't want the chemical smell... I paid for the set up fee and the men put together the frame and even put the allergy cover on the mattress for me (second floor bedroom). There was NO getting used to this bed!! From the first night I have had the best sleeps of my life... The mattress feels therapeutic to me and at first I had to fight not going to bed at 6PM and of course didn't want to get up in the morning.... Marvelous mattress...Best I have EVER had.... Thank you ERIK for helping with my choice.... Was nervous since I couldn't lay on one as I live in Olympia Washington which is about as far from JYC or New Jersey as you can get and stay in the US!!! I had been looking to buy this bed for over a year as my other iron/brass bed that I had for over 30 years, the screws that held the frame both broke off the foot board post. I fixed it temporarily. It took me a year to make a decision and I finally went for it. I got the Vintage White iron in Queen and I'm very happy with it. I went in the local showroom, knew what I wanted and bought it. Delivery and set up, the guys were very helpful and quick to set it up. I'm very happy with it and recommend this product to anyone looking for an iron/brass bed.

From start to finish my ordering and delivery experience with Charles P. Rogers was outstanding. It was December, just two weeks before Christmas and I had been waiting for a delivery from Pottery Barn for a bed I had ordered in September. I kept getting notifications that the delivery was being expended and extended and then finally when I spoke to someone on the telephone they told me they could not promise me the bed in time for Christmas! This was after it was supposed to be in on December 1st. I had company coming for the holidays and needed a bed pronto! I googled Charles P Rogers and found the beds to be overwhelmingly beautiful-- so much more so than any Pottery Barn product I had seen. The price points were better than Pottery Barn and when I called to inquire about ordering and speedy delivery, the person I spoke to was unbelievably helpful. They promised my bed the next week and I got it as promised. The best part...the bed is so well made, and absolutely gorgeous. I feel like it is a family treasure! The delivery service (I had the bed brought in and set up for an additional charge) was outstanding. The delivery men were courteous, beyond neat (they wore booties on my hardwood floors) and had the bed put together and set up even placing our mattresses on it for me, in a matter of minutes! I purchased a queen Estate 9000 Luxury Plush mattress for a platform bed (sight unseen) and could not be happier. The overall purchase experience and free delivery (to 2nd floor) were excellent and you can just tell the mattress is of very high quality. I have to be honest I was a little surprised at how firm it was but I think that is due to the quality construction and will translate into many years of use down the road. It could also be due to the new platform bed, as there is no flex now but I love the solid feel, like a superb hotel room bed. I added a high quality wool fleece mattress cover to protect it and it adds an extra layer of softness. I am genuinely excited to get into bed every night and it's been a month and a half now. My back pains are gone and I have never slept better... problem is I'm now sleeping an hour or two longer than normal and I have to set my alarm so I am not late for work! After our divorce and home sold, we took a small 2 bedroom apartment. I had no beds nor mattresses and we were sleeping on the floor in sleeping bags. Since we will be moving into a condo or townhome, I needed to make one purchase that I could move easily into other walk-ups, and repurpose into a guest room. A friend saw the Charles P Rodgers ad in House Digest, and found they make narrow width daybeds. It fit easily up the stairs down a 25" hallway, and is in a 9'6" x 9'6" square bedroom. The bedroom has two doors, one window, and a 36" radiator. It is tiny. This daybed saves precious space. I could put their dresser, nightstand, and toychest in the room and it doesn't feel crowded. The wrought ironwork is stunning and solid. The pop up trundle is so easy to pull out my kids do it. They are sleeping so well on the Chelsea mattresses that we have twice missed the bus to school. I would highly recommed!

My husband and I received our new Boston Bed a couple of weeks ago, and we're thrilled with it. Not only is it beautiful, but it was well-packaged for the shipping and is extremely well-made and sturdy. It was easy for the two of us to assemble and set up also. I just can't think of enough glowing words to describe how much we love this new gorgeous piece of furniture. If you have any kind of hesitation about placing an online order for something like this - don't worry. Everything went beautifully, and I can't imagine anyone being unhappy with this.

Shopped for hours online and in retail stores before we purchased this bed. We bought the cocoa leather headboard and the mies tiger mahogany platform bed. We love this bed. Appears as pictured and the quality is very good. Took me about 1 hour to assemble by myself. No issues. Hope to have for years. Delivery was so fast and free.

I purchased my Putnam Bed in steel and brass in 1995. I loved it then and I love it now. I now live in another state and my dcor has changed dramatically, but my bed is still a statement piece and has transitioned perfectly. The bed is unique, exudes understated elegance and its design is timeless. I plan to leave it to one of my grandchildren.

WE LOVE THIS MATTRESS!!! From the first night we have raved about it to each other and everyone we know. It is like floating! Both of us cannot believe the difference from our old bed, which was a mid level version by a well known maker. We strongly recommend the Powercore Estate, especially for someone with hip, back, or leg pain. I have had hip and lower back pain for a long time that would get worse when I went to bed on my old mattress. The pressure points were awful. My husband didn't have a problem, but we needed a new mattress for me. I did a lot of research s (which is not easy because there is a huge amount of misleading information out there!) and decided to take a chance on the Powercore Estate 700. I never would have ordered on the internet, but their offer to stand behind the product with a 90 day trial was a deal maker. When we went to bed the first night my husband and I remarked "Here goes 2 weeks of discomfort" because it took us that long to get used to our old bed. (We tried to take that one back to the local store within a week and they would only take it back for manufacturer defects.) We slept wonderfully from night 1. I am no longer exhausted when I wake up. It is truly good sleep - every night. Not to mention that we don't wake each other up if we have to get up in the middle of the night. It is quiet, beautiful, and a total comfort experience. What a great product!

I have been looking at a Bed from Charles Rogers for several years but could never pull the trigger. I live in the southeast and having never been to their showroom I had a hard time purchasing something strictly from the internet. I am glad I did as it is beyond my expectations. The delivery personal were excellent and the packaging was way beyond what you normally would receive. This gave me the impression that I was dealing with people who knew what they were doing even before I began assembly. The quality of products used just to transport the items (screws and wood just to hold items in place) were well beyond what was called for. I assembled myself in about an 1.5 hours and half that time was spent just unpacking the materials. I can not emphasize the detail that went into the packaging. I did watch the assembly video several times and followed to a tee on how to get things out of the box by turning them over and how to use the boxes to hold things in place while you secure them. They even included the tools needed for assembly and touch up stain for the bed that was not needed but might come in handy in the future. The Bed was in pristine condition and simply beautiful. All the components were excellent quality and well thought out. You can tell these guys have been in the business for years. The thickness of the wood was much thicker than expected and more than any other bed I looked at. I would say it is at least 1.5 inches if not more on the headboard.\

I hired 2 men from a furniture store to put the Cal King Leather Wing bed together for me. They remarked at the quality workmanship of the connection joints and the ratchet nuts and bolts. Every inch of the leather and the suede lining were finished professionally. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a bed and headboard set to give Charles P. Rogers a serious look. From the ordering, asking questions, delivery and unboxing all surprised my expectations. I already had a Duxiana bed which was very heavy and when reporting this to my sales rep at Charles P. Rogers, he quickly investigated and got back to me with the correct support rails recommendations which was then ordered. My rep by the way is William Mardorf.

I found almost the exact same bed on another website. The only difference was the decorative pieces that are on the footboard where the vertical bars meet the horizontal bar that goes across the bottom. These were not on the bed from the other site. The other bed, by the time I paid for shipping and a delivery up charge, would have cost me right at $2,600, plus it was missing the decorative pieces I mentioned above. For what I saved in buying this bed, I was able to buy all new bedding, including a down comforter, quilt and decorative pillows, for what I would have paid for the other bed. I am so happy with this bed. It is beautiful and very, very sturdy. I was afraid it would be on the "flimsy" side but it is just the opposite. It came packaged extremely well. There was not a scratch on it anywhere. The finish on it is pristine. They did include a bottle of touch up paint. As for the assembly, two of us put it together but it was more for balancing the pieces as they were put together. It was very, very easy to assemble. I could have put it together myself but having the second person there to help hold it while tightening the bolts helped but was not necessary. The pictures of this bed on the website do not do it justice. It is just a beautiful, well made bed.
