When pillow top mattresses first appeared about 35 years ago they were received with great enthusiasm. It was a simple obvious idea and it was the beginning of a new era of luxury mattress design. Unfortunately over time the pillowtop evolved into a caricature. More was better and it lost all structure. It became an over stuffed bag of foam and air that felt soft in the showroom but in the bedroom it collapsed. The Wool 4000 brings back the classic pillow top. Real materials and absolutely no foam. The 4000 features three types of wool carefully layered with double tempered steel coils. Hand stitching allows us to individually tune the layers. The genuine tailored pillowtop provides an inviting soft surface while the intermediate layers provide progressive support.
